Tourist attractions of Thailand

Tourism has become a popular global leisure activity.  Tourism is travel for recreational, leisure, or business purposes. The World Tourism Organization defines tourists as people "traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes"

The name of Koh Pha Ngan comes from the word 'Ngan', meaning 'sand bar' in the southern dialect, for there are many sand bars offshore around the island.  Koh Pha Ngan is an island off the Central Gulf Coast of Southern Thailand, halfway between the islands of Koh Samui and Koh Tao. It is known as a land of coconut trees and, above all, the world famous full moon parties.

Koh Pha Ngan is a magnificent island in the Gulf of Thailand just north of Koh Samui, yet is also the setting for an extraordinary array of nature's wonders - waterfalls, tropical beaches, mountains, streams, rare birds, reptiles, jungle and much more.
The Island offers elephant trekking, scuba diving, snorkelling, paragliding, Island tours by longboat, jeep safaris, hiking, trekking, Thai cooking classes, paragliding, Thai boxing classes, yoga schools, Karaoke bars, open mic nights, live jam sessions, sailing & day trips to other Islands plus bars and restaurants with many choices of international cuisine.
